Harry Potter book review

Although Harry Potter is one of my favorite magic movies, I never got the chance to read his original novels. It was the first time I read the book, and although there were many dialects and strange nouns in the book, I was able to read it with relative ease based on my memory of the film. The plot of the whole book is rigorous, small plot hidden in the big plot, small trouble leads to the big story, characters, props and plot layer by layer to promote a link to link, written very fascinating. The portrayal of the characters in the novel is very full, and the detailed description of the environment in the book has aroused my interest in reading and made me immersed in this mysterious magical world. In this world, I felt like a member of the Potter trio, following them in their quest for secrets and rejoicing in their friendship.       In my opinion, there are two themes in the book. The first one is to persevere in the face of evil forces and dare to fight. In the end, good will prev

The Hobbit book review

I first came into contact with   The Hobbit because of the film, and I thought it was very exciting after watching it. However, after reading the book, I found that the content in the book is more real than the content in the film, more striking. Although many people regard it as a fairy tale because there are many amazing creatures in the book, such as elves, dwarves, hobbits and so on. But I don't think so. I think he's telling a wonderful, true epic story. Just like history, the history of the Middle Earth century. The main character of the book is Bilbo, a Hobbit. He was not handsome or brave like the heroes in other stories. In fact, he is just the opposite. Bilbo, like every hobbit, is short and small, like peace and quiet, did not like adventure. But one day Gandalf and the thirteen dwarves came to his house and set him on an unexpected journey.   I admire Bilbo for his courage and kindness. He could not use weapons and had only played with a slingshot, but he did not

Aunt Maria book review

Aunt Maria  is a very interesting and profound novel. When I read this book, some delicate description and emotional processing reminded me of my favorite animated film: Howl’s moving castle. Before I knew this author, Diana Wynne Jones. I always thought it was Hayao Miyazaki’s story. Diana adds enough twists and turn in every chapter and exquisite description. Which attracted me to read without have any rest. I think this book is not only a magic story about witches, but also contains a lot of knowledge about how the world works, for example: psychology, philosophy and sociology. In this novel, we can have a chance to think about the impact of a broken family on family members, including adults and children. The difference between the rights of men and women, and the exploitation problems of society.    Although this novel is called Aunt Maria, she is not the protagonist of this novel. It can be said that there are many main characters in this novel. Include aunt Maria, Chris and Mi

Annihilation book review

Annihilation  is a very interesting novel, it basically dominated by female characters, combines the elements of science fiction and suspense. we follow the biologist’s perspective as we explore the mysterious “Area X,” a place with full of horrible, weird phenomena. I could always feel curious and nervous when I read this novel.   In this book, the author uses a vast amount of words to describe scenery and environment. Every idea and every motive of the characters are dissected in details. When reading the author’s description of the environment, countless clever metaphors and descriptions caught my attention, which is a kind of enjoyment. I even unconsciously brought myself into the scene. The weird setting of the story is also very imaginative. In this area, plants have the shape of human and animals have some characteristics of humans. Everything in the Area X is both familiar and unfamiliar, because it is neither beyond recognition, nor happened in the real world, and at the sam
