A Wild Sheep Chase book review

A Wild Sheep Chase  is a very profound novel, I thought it would be an Asian horror novel before I started reading this book. However, I was confused from the first chapter. The writer’s approach to writing is quite different from the novels in Europe or North America. For example, the novel does not have a specific idea that the author wants to convey, everyone can get different thoughts and feelings. The narrative approach is very implicit, has distinctive oriental characteristic. The main story line is looking for a sheep with the brown star stripes on its back. In my opinion, the sheep symbolizes the root of militarism, the evil in the human heart. According to my history knowledge, Japanese imperialism in Japan's modern war of aggression is actually the logic of colonial imperialism internalized in Europe and America. Interview with a Vampire book review

The novel “Interview with a Vampire” is a really successful Gothic literary works. It has distinctive gothic characteristics: The main character is Vampire, they kill people, eat corpses and turned others become vampire. Those elements make a frightening effect to the reader. It expresses the reflection on the dark side of the society and the dark side of human nature. This novel also shows the diversity of the vampires and the author’s emphasis on some elements makes it easier for the reader to recognize vampires. This novel depicts a lot of vampires. For instance, the main character Louis, Lestat, Claudia, Armand and Madeleine. Although they are all the same type of creature, their personalities are quite different. That’s how the author shows the diversity of the vampires. The vampire Lestat turned Louis i

Frankenstein book review

As the first “science fiction” novel, Frankenstein has distinctly Gothic characteristics. This writer creates a scary, repression and mystery story. The main character monster, is look like human but not entirely human. Those elements creating a frightening effect to the reader and the story reveals the dark side of the society. After reading the book Frankenstein, I was deeply touched. I am sympathized with the fate of the monster, felt sad that stereotypes can finally destroy a good person and also worries about the technological developments that ignore ethical constraints. A monster is created by scientist Frankenstein. He is so ugly that everyone is scared of him. Because of that, people hurt him, attacked him even though he did many good things. He seems to be a mistake and have no right to live. People hate him simply because of his ugly face. However, I can feel that the monster is born with a kind, sincere heart through reading the book. Unfortunately, his hopes were eventua
